If you click and drag outside the box, the entire word rotates.<\/p>\n<p>As long as your text remains a Type layer, individual letters are locked in place. <\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pe-images.s3.amazonaws.com\/type\/effects\/2022\/flip-rotate-letters\/entire-word-rotates.jpg\" alt=\"Photoshop rotates the entire word.\" width=\"803\" height=\"455\" \/>\n<div class=\"image-desc\">Photoshop rotates the entire word.<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"sub\">The solution: Convert the type into a shape<\/h2>\n<p>The trick to unlocking your letters is to convert your text from type into a <a href=\"\/basics\/how-to-draw-shapes-with-the-shape-tools\/\" title=\"Learn more\">shape<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Warning:<\/strong> Before you do this, make sure your words are spelled correctly and you are happy with the font. Click anywhere outside the letters to deselect them. <\/p>\n<p>Then click directly on the letter you want to transform.
