Press Shift+Tab again to show the panels.<\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pe-images.s3.amazonaws.com\/basics\/2024\/hide-interface\/hide-panels-only.jpg\" alt=\"Press Shift+Tab to hide the panels.\" width=\"809\" height=\"459\" \/>\n<div class=\"image-desc\">Press Shift+Tab to hide the panels.<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"sub\">Using Photoshop\u2019s screen modes to hide the interface<\/h2>\n<p>Photoshop also includes three <strong>screen modes<\/strong> that change the visibility of the interface:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"f1\">\n<li>Standard Screen Mode<\/li>\n<li>Full Screen Mode With Menu Bar<\/li>\n<li>Full Screen Mode<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Standard Screen Mode is the default mode and displays the entire interface. The opposite is Full Screen Mode which hides the interface completely, while Full Screen Mode With Menu Bar falls somewhere in between.<\/p>\n<h3>Where to find the screen modes<\/h3>\n<p>Photoshop\u2019s screen modes can be accessed from the <strong>Menu Bar<\/strong>, the <strong>toolbar<\/strong> or by using a <strong>keyboard shortcut<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the Menu Bar, go to <strong>View<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Screen Mode<\/strong> to switch between Standard, Full Screen With Menu Bar and Full Screen.<\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pe-images.s3.amazonaws.com\/basics\/2024\/hide-interface\/view-screen-modes.jpg\" alt=\"Choosing a screen mode from the View menu in Photoshop\" width=\"809\" height=\"542\" \/>\n<div class=\"image-desc\">Go to View &gt; Screen Mode.<\/div>\n<p>Or in the toolbar, press and hold the <strong>Screen Mode<\/strong> icon (at the bottom) to choose a screen mode from the menu.<\/p>\n<p>Notice that all three screen modes share the letter <strong>F<\/strong> as their keyboard shortcut, so you can cycle between them from the keyboard. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> To cycle backwards through the screen modes from your keyboard, press <strong>Shift+F<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pe-images.s3.amazonaws.com\/basics\/2024\/hide-interface\/toolbar-screen-modes.jpg\" alt=\"The screen mode options in the toolbar.\" width=\"698\" height=\"468\" \/>\n<div class=\"image-desc\">The screen mode options in the toolbar.<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"sub\">Standard Screen Mode<\/h2>\n<p>In Standard Screen Mode (the default mode), Photoshop\u2019s entire interface is visible. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"f1\">\n<li>the <strong>toolbar<\/strong> on the left,<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>Menu Bar<\/strong> along the top,<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>Options Bar<\/strong> below the Menu Bar, and<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>panels<\/strong> along the right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Standard Screen Mode also includes interface elements related to the document window itself, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"f1\">\n<li>the <strong>tab area<\/strong> above the image,<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>scroll bars<\/strong> on the right and bottom of the image, and<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>Status Area<\/strong> in the lower left corner (which shows information about the document).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pe-images.s3.amazonaws.com\/basics\/2024\/hide-interface\/standard-screen-mode.jpg\" alt=\"Photoshop\u2019s Standard Screen Mode.\" width=\"809\" height=\"459\" \/>\n<div class=\"image-desc\">Photoshop\u2019s Standard Screen Mode.<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"sub\">Full Screen Mode With Menu Bar<\/h2>\n<p>In Full Screen Mode With Menu Bar, all of the interface elements related to the document window itself disappear:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"f1\">\n<li>the <strong>tab area<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>scroll bars<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>Status Area<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But the main interface elements (the toolbar, Menu Bar, Options Bar and panels) remain.
